Pinnacle Award 2011 - Vince Corrado

During the 2011 Build Ohio Celebration, AGC of Ohio President Mike Deiwert presented Vince Corrado with the association's first Pinnacle Award for Lifetime Achievement.

The following is an excerpt of President Deiwert's speech.

"In 2006, AGC of Ohio created the Pinnacle Award to recognize an individual who has demonstrated leadership above and beyond the call of duty.  The award recognizes that individual’s continued dedication to AGC of Ohio, long after his direct leadership obligation has been fulfilled. The Associated General Contractors of Ohio is proud to announce the recipient of the Pinnacle Award for Lifetime Achievement: Vincent M. Corrado."

For over 25 years, Vince has been active in the Associated General Contractors.  He has volunteered and held many leadership roles with the AGC at the local, regional, and national levels.  Vince is a past president of both West Central Ohio AGC and AGC of Ohio, and he currently represents Ohio as an elected director on the AGC of America Board of Directors.  Even after completing his term as AGC of Ohio president in 1992, Vince continues to attend AGC of Ohio board meetings and events. He has played an active role in AGC committees and taskforces.  He actively promotes AGC and encourages other organizations to join and participate.

Vince is a great ambassador for AGC and the construction industry – everyone knows him.  As one of AGC’s few, token Democrats, he is very active in local, state, and national politics—working with all elected officials, Democrats and Republicans. He educates them about the construction industry and reinforces AGC’s positions on issues.
One’s greatness is measured by one’s willingness to serve others. In addition to his years of service to AGC, Vince has been involved in countless community activities throughout his career. He has contributed time and money to many local civic and educational organizations, such as the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges, the United Way, the Boy Scouts, and A Special Wish Foundation – just to name a few. He has spent the last two years volunteering at Mother Brunner Catholic School, advising with local 7th & 8th graders on high school choices and career path planning.

He also serves as a volunteer Angel Pilot for the National Pilot Network shuttling very ill patients to world class healthcare providers all over the country.  An avid general aviator with a passion for flying, Vince was selected in 2002 to represent the State of Ohio in a national event known as “Flight Across America.” Ultimately he presented the state flag to the City of New York to honor the memory of those who perished on September 11, 2001.

Throughout his career, Vince has exemplified the AGC tenets of skill, responsibility and integrity. His affable personality, strong leadership and altruistic service have improved the lives of those in his community, at Shook, and within the construction industry.
The Associated General Contractors thanks Vince for his continued commitment and is proud to honor him with the Pinnacle Award for Lifetime Achievement.
