AGC of America arranged to have Ali Mills from Plum Contracting, a member of the Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania visit with President Trump today to tell her story about how the Paycheck Protection Program loans helped her put people back to work in her part of the country. Watch the speech HERE. You can listen HERE, and watch HERE, her story with the latest edition of AGC of America’s ConstructorCast Coronavirus Special Report.

AGC of America organized a virtual media event with the Louisiana AGC to release new figures showing how the construction industry in the state is losing jobs, in large part because of the coronavirus. They urged federal and state officials to boost investments in infrastructure to put more people to work in high-paying construction careers. You can watch the event HERE.

Banks across America yesterday began accepting the second round of applications for new Paycheck Protection Program loans. And while there were reports of technical glitches and delays, these loans, like the first round, are first-come, first-served. Prior to launching this second round, the Treasury Department issued new guidance warning firms of future audits and potential legal risks for companies that apply for loans they do not need. This has created quite a bit of confusion, which we addressed in last Friday’s ConstructorCast Coronavirus Special Report, watch it HERE and listen to it HERE.

AGC is now finalizing a pair of hour-long webinars on this and other questions regarding the Paycheck Protection Program. The dates are May 6th and May 7th at 2:00 p.m. EDT. And the titles are:

- Paycheck Protection Program: Key Updates and Developments in the Ground Rules of the Program

- Paycheck Protection Program: Preparing Your Business Today for Audits, Oversight, and Agency Enforcement and Whistle Blower Actions Tomorrow

Save the dates and times now and we will send a link to register and more details as soon as they are available.
