AGC of America organized a virtual media event with the Louisiana AGC to release new figures showing how the construction industry in the state is losing jobs, in large part because of the coronavirus. They urged federal and state officials to boost investments in infrastructure to put more people to work in high-paying construction careers. You can watch the event HERE.
Banks across America yesterday began accepting the second round of applications for new Paycheck Protection Program loans. And while there were reports of technical glitches and delays, these loans, like the first round, are first-come, first-served. Prior to launching this second round, the Treasury Department issued new guidance warning firms of future audits and potential legal risks for companies that apply for loans they do not need. This has created quite a bit of confusion, which we addressed in last Friday’s ConstructorCast Coronavirus Special Report, watch it HERE and listen to it HERE.
