In our ongoing efforts to track the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on the industry, we are asking all of you to please take a few minutes to complete the eighth edition of our member survey HERE. Your answers help us determine how best to continue supporting the industry and what type of federal support for which we need to advocate. Please complete the survey HERE by noon EDT on Wednesday, June 17.

Last Friday President Trump signed into law a series of significant changes to the federal Paycheck Protection Program. AGC’s Constructor Cast crew talked to AGC’s Matthew Turkstra about those changes and what they mean for the roughly 80 percent of firms that report they applied for the loans. You can listen to the latest Coronavirus Special Report podcast HERE and watch it HERE.

Highway contractors: we still need your help in completing the highway work zone survey. As more states ease lockdown orders and as reports of high-speed crashes on relatively empty highways grow, AGC and its survey partner HCSS are asking highway and transportation members to complete the survey HERE by June 22. Your answers to this survey will help us better advocate for highway work zone safety measures and educate the public about the need to drive safely in highway work zones, even during the pandemic.

AGC will be hosting a new WebEd: Covid-19 and the Impact of Lean Construction Projects on Wednesday, June 17 at 2 pm EDT. Lean construction tools and techniques are centered on collaboration, inclusion and all hands on deck from the moment a job starts. How are general contractors, specialty contractors and consultants switching up the Last Planner System and the Big Room in the age of social distancing? Join us to hear best practices from Linbeck Group, LLC, Southland Industries, and SixSigmaTV.net as they share how they have pivoted their sites to implement Lean techniques while keeping their team members safe. Click HERE to register.

As more jurisdictions allow construction activity to restart, including in New York City, please remember to have your crews follow all appropriate safety procedures. You can check out the safety resources section of AGC’s special COVID site for helpful tool and tips. Click HERE to view weekly tips.

Please consider sharing your videos of your crews practicing coronavirus safety measures. We would love to share your stories with the public and if you are interested please send those to Brian Turmail at brian.turmail@agc.org and Sophia Valentino at sophia.valentino@agc.org.
