OSHA has officially increased maximum allowable penalties by 1.182%, a decrease from 2020’s increase of 1.78%. OSHA's maximum penalties for serious and other-than-serious violations will increase from $13,494 per violation to $13,653 per violation. OSHA released new guidance on mitigating and preventing the spread of COVID 19 in the workplace. It was issued after President Biden on January 21 issued an Executive Order requiring the Federal Government to take swift action to protect workers for the COVID-19 pandemic.
